Melaleuca is a wellness company that, in her words, helps the little guy to become a champion:
We see ourselves as the champion of the “little guy.” We believe that those who were not born into wealth and who have not climbed the corporate ladder should still have the same opportunity to get ahead in life. Although we’ve all heard the old mantra “It takes money to make money,” Melaleuca has developed a proven system where people with virtually no financial investment can make substantial improvements in their financial situation simply by referring customers to Melaleuca. This system has proven to be quite successful. Melaleuca has already paid out over $3.6 billion to households who were previously “just getting by” with their 9-to-5 jobs.

How to start with Melaleuca?
Melaleuca company provides information about the creation of financial resources to live an extraordinary life.
According to the company, newbies do not need
- Pay for advertisement
- Marketing
- Meeting rooms
Newbies need:
- Time
- Hard work
The company tells you that everybody can be successful without investing money.
How do you start?
You subscribe under somebody who will be your sponsor completing the Independent Marketing Executive Application.
How will you be paid?
Two ways are being paid from Melaleuca company:
- Commissions from customers enrolled by you
- Commissions from customers enrolled by others
Remember, it is an MLM company. It means that newbies work their buts out (hard work) to recruit others(downline) and climb ranks.
When you enroll new customers, you will get
- 50% of product points on purchases in the customer’s first month. It means that if your downline buys something in the first month, you will get product points, not the real money.
- Monthly commissions from personally enrolled customers that buy products in the second month. Commissions depend on how many active new customers you enrolled in. For example, if you registered from 1 to 7, you will get 7%. If you have 20 active customers and more, you will get 20% from purchases.
Getting commissions from enrolled customers purchases in your organization
I was confused about what it does mean organization. It is simple when I figured out.
An MLM company consists of members with different ranks. When you start with Melaleuca, you are at the lowest level. It is like a basement or foundation. Later on, when you enroll new and active members( their names can be different: Consultants, Affiliates, or Marketing Executive as in the Melaleuca), you reach the next level or rank.
Of course, your enrolled members under you must be active. These members enroll others under them.
Depending on how you successful with enrolling others and how good your organization is, commissions, and the bonus will differ accordingly to the efforts of everybody.
In short, your monetary success will depend on how your organization will perform.
Melaleuca created a compensation plan where commissions depend on various rates.
There are presentation rates, leadership points, bonuses such as advancement bonus, pacesetter bonus, and mentoring bonus.
Does Melaleuca offer a real opportunity to earn money?
According to the marketing plan, you can earn money. However, it has a real price. Why? Melaleuca requires continuous enrollment of new customers and constant purchases of products every month.
Especially in the beginning, it is not easy to find customers, and keep with the pace of other members who are experienced, have a full circle of potential clients, and do not suffer financially.
What do I mean?
Most of the people reach for this type of company when they have financial difficulties and want to earn at least some money.
If you do not need Melaleuca’s household, beauty, and wellness products every month, you will not get commissions. To get 7% from the order every month, you need to spend at least 50$.
For some of the families, it is a significant amount.
How are right Melaleuca’s products?
There is no doubt that the Melaleuca company manufactures high-quality products. The price is accordingly higher compared with items in WallMart.
Products contain natural ingredients and continuously checked in labs for quality.
Everything seems so good, is it not?
Conclusions from the Federal Trade Commission
When I was searching about Melaleuca’s business opportunities, I stumbled upon on research PDF where Jon M. Taylor, Ph. D. from Customer Awareness Institute points out that MLM companies deceive people offering them so-called opportunities to create successful financial lives.
He states, that

Wrapping up
There is no doubt that Melaleuca manufactures and sells high-quality products. However, it is questionable about the earnings of the little guy, as the company named those who enroll in the company.
The need to continuously buy products and enroll new members creating organization takes time, perseverance, and luck.
You need carefully to check your options and do not rush to try water with both your feet.
