The difference is the ability to get the job, benefits, and the bigger paycheck.
According to Forbes Magazine, The Best 200 colleges in the USA are these, who ranks best as little debt, high graduation, student satisfaction, and career success places.
First, a list is Pomona College in Claremont, CA. The total cost is $62,632. The last one is the University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ. The total cost for this university would be from $25, 157 to $43,621. This amount of money is pretty significant if we consider that students do not have savings or help from their parents. It would be great if they could get the job right away.
Overall, college graduates earn $1.28 million more over their lifetime compared with people who have only a high school diploma. This gap is steadily widening.
Success Versus Diploma
I think that it is fascinating to have a diploma and be free of debt. Unfortunately, according to Forbes Magazine, forty million Americans are in debt. The amount is enormous: nearly $1.4 trillion. Eight millions of these borrowers are in default. I do not want to scare you or turn away from getting a college diploma. I would like to tell you that there are ways how to reach financial stability and make your dreams come true. This way is the entrepreneur’s way.

I agree that here in the UK there are so many university graduates that are searching for jobs that simply are not there. They are lead by the education system from school to college to university, only to find that they have amassed huge tuition fees that they find difficult to pay back. I worked as an IT Trainer and Assessor and have seen many graduates coming through the door to get some real world qualifications to get a normal job, only to find that they are then considered over qualified. I like your title “Education for Coup.” It sums up what a real education can do for someone.
I do think you might have miss-typed how much an Ivy League school costs per year. It’s probably more like $40,000 a year. State Colleges are probably closer to $20,000 a year.
That said, public education and college are outdated models of learning and fail to keep up with what is really happening in the world. They also feed into the predatory student loan scam.
At all levels, traditional education is the most inefficient, time consuming and costly form of education imaginable.
Like you mention, thanks to the internet, now anyone with a desire can earn an incredible income. Unfortunately, there are very few legitimate places to learn how to do this.

What I wrote, it was an excerpt from Forbes Magazine 49 years ago. Yes, nowadays, price is higher and students carry bigger loans, compare what it was almost fifty years ago.
It would be not so painful, if students would get jobs straight away and knowledge what they got, would keep them afloat competitors. Of course, there are great schools, as my mentioned the best 200 Colleges by Forbes. It is perfect when schools encourage students venture ideas, as in Middlebury College. This school has the Center for Social Entrepreneurship, where students can realize their ideas. Middle-Challenge, Middlebury’s business competition let’s best student teams to win, when they present their business ideas. Best of them get grant, enough to start enterprises.

Everything you wrote in this post is why I am so determined to succeed as an internet marketer. Growing up, my parents didn’t have too much money and I soon realized that going to college was going to hurt them financially. So after graduating high school, I stalled on attending school even though I got accepted into a few universities. Instead I went to Community College for two years; until I decided to go to Culinary School because it was something I enjoy. As much as I love cooking, I hate working for someone else. So now I am working towards achieving my goal of working full time from home. While a higher education is not a bad thing… it isn’t the only solution.

Having done paying my college loan after 7 years, I can totally relate to this post. Expensive college education has taught me a few harsh realities;
1) Where you end up working might not have anything to do with your passion/degree.
2) At the end of the day, traditional bosses only care about their business.
3) When you are doing your best at work, people call you a workaholic (even your family members).
4) As for co-workers, familiarity only breeds contempt.
5) You can’t pursue personal development when you are stuck in the office 9-5.
The only reason I am staying with my current job now is for the check. Once I get my online business up and running, I am going to quit to become my own boss. I want to have better control of my future financially and emotionally.

We feel tired and depleted because there are no personal interest in it. The competition in job does not make any good for us too. We just please our ego and maybe an account in the bank. Our soul is not content and happy. We know it and feel it. It is reason why people use drugs so often because they feel emptiness inside. Finishing college and getting degree is one thing, but staying with debt and working for it is another, if we do not like what we do.
People need information that choice always is and will be. Choice to live happy and fulfilling or being desperate to pay off big amounts of money for education. We need to be careful and intelligent when we choose how we want to spend our lives.

Hi Nemira, my son will go to college by the end of this year. I agree with you that college tuitions are very steep and I wish they were less of a burden on students and there families. I think we need an honest discussion about what education means to us as a nation and society. I don’t think that college should be just about monetizing education but about the pure joy of learning about things that may not be of monetary value but help us to grow into responsible human beings and citizens who aim for the greater good. But I guess that’s another discussion. This said, I think that learning business skills early, especially online skills, is helpful in any event. They procrastinate because they have debts and their activities do not have any meaning. They work just for check. I think that it is unfair for themselves and society.
When costs are high and people do not have satisfaction, it leads to misery. I think that it would be better to explore themselves and think what makes us happy. If people want to please others, such as parents or spouses with diploma from prestigious university, they will be be disappointed sooner or later.

It’s such a shame that college/university education is so expensive these days – it automatically rules it out for a lot of people. I was lucky and went before the tuition fees shot up to sky-high levels.
