Benefits of Controlling Thoughts
Controlling your thoughts, it means that you can manage your life. Your thoughts scattered as horses running in wild prairies or focus of the laser, towards your goals. Which option do you choose? Sometimes we can feel tired after the long day. If you want to find the reason for it, you need to take a better look at your thoughts.
Thoughts are things. Thoughts without purpose are the waste of energy. We think about our problems over and over. Anyway, we do not move from the same place as we started to think about it. Controlling your thoughts helps to be in charge of your achievements and control your path to your desired goals.
Ways for Controlling Thoughts
It is an excellent book regarding techniques on how to reach stillness inside yourself. Eknath Easwaran, the writer, lecturer, and professor of English Literature, is from I to teach credit courses in meditation at the University of California. I like his comparison of the human’s mind with the trunk of the elephant. At the festival, days are a custom to carry on the back of the elephant, an image of Lord. Gorgeous animal, decorated beautifully in gold cloth, goes between stalls with fruits. His trunk swings to both sides and picks all fruits that he wants.
People who own theses stalls are concerned with this feast. To protect from this indulgence, the mahout, asks the elephant to grasp a bamboo stick in his trunk. Now, without danger to fruits, the elephant slowly passes through stalls, because he has something to hold on. It is the same with us. When we have something to stick with, we can be still and in charge of our thoughts.
Praxis of Mantra
One of the methods is a mantra. As the Eknath Easwaran put, a mantra is a spiritual formula of the mantra for the extended period, it will enable you to cross the sea of the mind. You can repeat the mantra anywhere and anytime. You need to start doing it, and after some time, you will see effects as your thoughts will be not disturbing you anymore.
A Fist of Mantra
Mantras expressed in various forms. You can use holy names and always repeat them. I like one particular mantra, which is Om mani Padme hum. It associated with Compassionate Buddha, who only says, regarding Eknath Easwaran, “Here is the boat; there lies the goal, the opposite shore. Don’t take my word for what you will find there; go and see for ourselves.” Eknath Easwaran firmly offers to use words for the mantra, which are blessed by extended usage through ages. Do not change your mantra if it does not work after a few days. As everything, what is right, takes to show up after a more extended period.
A Fist of Meditation
Meditation is an ancient technique, which lets us control our thoughts. It does not allow for the mind to wander where it wants, without our permission. Sitting still in a quiet room or nature at least for five minutes every day, it will let you calm down, will help gather your thoughts after practicing this technique.
More Styles to Concentrate
Walking in the maze, spiraling towards the center contributes to concentrate and rid of unwanted noise in our heads. Contemplation on some wise words, being in quiet places as the park, beach, or your room early, really early in the morning, will contribute to us bringing peace, concentration, and power over our minds.

I love your article! it’s so true if you control your thoughts you have controlled your mind. I mean at the end of the day our thoughts determine what we say and what we say is a self fulling prophesy. The battle must be won in mind first.
Thanks for sharing this.

Hello Grace, yes, thoughts are things. If we think positive thoughts, positive events, people will show up in our lives. I think all is about vibrations. Everything and everybody has own frequencies. We attract things or people who vibrate in the same level. Controlling own thoughts, we can control our decisions. We clear our minds, skipping negativity and chatter without meaning.
All the best, happy writing, Nemira.

I really like meditating for calming the mind as the mind needs to rest too and sometimes sleeping is just not enough for the mind to rest. Also, I agree with sitting in nature as I feel getting in touch with the energies of nature is very healing because it nourishes us vibrationally and helps us attain balance on all levels of our being. 😉

I totally agree with you on the fact that our thoughts create our reality. Not so long ago I began meditating and visualizing myself making 1000 dollars online. Fast forward 6 months later and here I am making mad money! I will totally check out the book that you recommended. I will also make sure to check out those mantras that you suggested, I know they will bring me peace. i also find that a way to bring me extreme clarity and peace is to wake up really early like 5 am and just begin thinking. My thoughts are pure and distraction free everything is just so peaceful. Thanks a lot!
