In this information age, everybody uses the computer and knows how to google one or another term. How are you smart?
Fake News Versus Real News
I think if you do not hide somewhere in jungles without the Internet you followed some stories about the important election in the USA. It is funny to see how fake news influence so many people.
Everybody can create a website nowadays. Write content, add images, spread it on the social media using popular hashtags. You can get followers fast enough because people like to know what is going on in the world.
If you have protection for your website, nobody will see who the owner is. Convenient, is not?
Does it Worth of Time?
We see people, who most of them are hungry for information. Do they check what do they read? The information can be good food for the mind, or it can be a junk food for us.
Children are sensitive to the information. They absorb every word what they hear on TV, at home or outside. They can not decide what is wrong and what is right for them. I think that it is the same with adults. They are mesmerized with empty shows and endless TV series. The information provided on TV keeps them like glue.
There is high production on TV, no doubt. However, we could spend our time better, improving themselves and surrounding world.
How to Choose Information?
Everybody who writes a book, creates a show, movie or play or has the website, influences people. What of influence visitors will get and choose it is opt to them. We can stuff our heads with information, which does not have the real foundation. It is jus gossip or the lazy imagination.
Of course, if we want to escape the reality we go to the movie, play video games or use gadgets which transfer us to the virtual world.
Unfortunately, in the end, we are back to the reality. What happens? If we had a pleasant, relaxing experience, we can think better positive thoughts, expand our imagination and adapt it in a real world.
If we experience fake or horrible news, what we can get from it?
How Smart Are You?
We need to be smart regarding what we read, watch or listen. Our minds do not have enough capacity to acquire all information from the whole world. If we do not clear space in our heads using techniques such as meditation, contemplation, we would have clustered minds.
It is not an emergency situation. Just we can not move forward without real and proper information.
We have limited time. If we want to achieve something in our lives, we must choose carefully. It works for everything. Our health, finances, decision making depend on the choices. We have what we choose. Nothing or nobody to blame.
It means that we must be smart about everything. Choosing right mentors, friends, the place where to live, education would help us to move on, from one step to another.
How could we become smart? If we check all facts, news and make own decisions despite outside influence, we can make things work for us. For example, in the Internet world, there are plenty of scammers who offer fast and easy ways to become rich. You will buy the shiny product, and after one or two weeks you will rest on the beach somewhere around the Bahamas sipping the cocktail. The money will pour to your account right away.
Did you believe already? Many of us believed me in the same group too. I got caught when I did not check the source and did not look for feedback.
How are you smart? It depends on how you will choose information and evaluation of it.
We can learn how to be smart using evidence from science, following mentors who achieved their goals and using our minds for own well-being.
