The world does not care if you prepared or not for the ups and downs. The world is neutral. It depends on how we are prepared to meet challenges and endure unpleasant situations in the business world.
Vito Corleone, from the famous movie Godfather, offers some remarkable lessons.
First Lesson
Keep contacts and relationships were alive and flourishing. If you have relationships with your business partners, keep intact with people. Be intuitive and less formal.
You can know many influential people. Unfortunately, if you do not keep close contact with them, you can expect a denial at the time of the need.
When Amerigo Bonasera asks for the favor from Vito Corleone, the Godfather is mad. The Godfather reminds Bonasera that he never visited or did not pay respect to him. Anyway, Godfather promises to help Bonasera because his daughter Connie get married.
Keeping in touch with people who are relevant to your business, it is vital and pays back dividends.
Second Lesson
Know your enemies and friends. Competitors can disrupt or conquer your business if you do not pay attention to your rivals.
It is important to know business plans now and in the future. The information must be hidden and not spread for outsiders.
Third Lesson
A vision in business is essential as a constant reminder. We need to know directions and goals for the present and the future.
Michael Corleone did not reach his goals through all three parts of the Godfather movie series. Anyway, he worked diligently and viciously and trusted in himself.
People in business must watch their competitors because of everything changes in the world. Innovations, climate, markets evolve. What it was yesterday, it will be old and unwanted today if we do not pay attention to how to adapt and prosper in every moment.
The fourth Lesson
An adviser is a valuable addition to the business and businessman or businesswoman. Trustworthy sources and harsh but real feedback are worth of gold. We blinded by success or believed in wrong ideas and unrealistic goals. A friend or advisor can see our mistakes from the further position.
Checking, again, and again, various sources, details, and strategies of competitors with your advisor will help to avoid traps of fame and vanity.
Fifth Lesson
Offer contributes to your friends and fellow partners in the business. People are thankful for advice given at the moment of need. The support strengthens bonds between partners.
We never know when we need to ask for help. It does not mean that we must think just about ourselves. We can work with our business and offer support to those who are in need.
Selfish people in business not respected in communities and the world of right-minded people. I heard a saying that nobody would judge you if you are rich. Anyway, karma is a real thing. It is better to succeed without harm to others.

Hello, Anh, thanks for the comment, I appreciate it. For me this movie is a great story, painful one but colorful with lives of strong and stubborn characters. I see in everyday live situations when people come to you and ask for favor. Later on, they never pay you back. Usually, I never expect to get something in return. Anyway, there is a feeling that something is not right. When you feel used, you do not want to have business or relationships with this person. It is okay, but plenty of human beings do not understand why you do not want to see them anymore.
Everybody is different, but there are rules which would be followed if we want to live a balanced life. The integrity, great attitude and honesty always will pay off. Benefits of it would be peace of mind and the life without wasting time to the people. These people are persons who want to used you for their own benefit. We can be polite and step back. We have a lot more to do in our lives, do not we?

Hello, Melanie. This movie is an icon for these times when family values were preserved and cherished in a strong way. Children had respect for their parents. The father had weight and stability as an example to listen and learn about way to lead life.
I like connection between family members how they stand for each other. Of course, there are some scenes which are brutal but they did not know other ways how to solve problems. This movie is a old classic with great actors. You would have a great time transferring to different era.
